Pebble Beach, California, held the perfect setting last week for Lexus to unveil their refreshed look of the 2016 Lexus LX570. With only door panels being carried over from the 2015 model, it’s safe to say this premier luxury vehicle with off-road capabilities got more than a little face lift.
The 2016 LX570 features a convenient 8-passenger seating, and Lexus’ signature spindle grille, chrome accents, a powerful V8 engine and new standard LED headlights, turn signals and fog lights.
The technology in this beast of a vehicle is nothing short of what you’d expect in a Lexus. With more standard safety and entertainment features including Blind Spot Monitoring, Drive Mode Select, Lexus Safety System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, 9 Speaker Surround Sound with a 19 Speaker System Available, Siri Eyes Free, Upgraded Multi-Media System - Rear Seat Entertainment with Larger 12.3-Inch Screen and Remote Touch Interface, Panoramic View Monitor and Climate Concierge. Also available is the Head-Up Display, Wireless Charging Tray for Qi-compatible phones and Lexus Enform Service Connect.
The transmission boasts a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 383 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 403 lb.-ft. peak torque at 3,600 rpm which enables the car to tow up to 7,000 lbs. The new 8-speed automatic transmission replaces the 2015’s 6-speed, and it offers a smooth comfortable drive thanks to the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) technology. The engine will make the car more powerful than its predecessors while maintaining good fuel consumption rates.
The interior offers an entire renovation from the 2015 model, including its center console, dashboard, gauges, and steering wheel. The luxurious and spacious cabin will make you feel like you’re in first class on a plane – sans the stranger sitting next to you sneezing.
Lexus Canada has not set a price for the vehicle yet nor have they set an arrival date for dealerships; however the 2015 Lexus LX 570 base price is $97,400 (CAD) so we expect the 2016 model won't be too far off.
