2021 Lexus ES Gets All-Wheel Drive

2021 Lexus ES Gets All-Wheel Drive

The Lexus ES, heretofore known for its comfort and sportiness developed with the most recent model redesign, adds another weapon to its arsenal with the addition of all-wheel drive for the 2021 model year. The 2021 Lexus ES 250 AWD is the big news announced today, but it's not the only thing lurking inside the new 2021 Lexus ES.

A new Black Line Special Edition version for the 2021 Lexus ES

The new Lexus ES 2021 now offers a new 2021 Black Line Special Edition trim with an even sportier appearance that will stand out more in traffic.

Derived from the F Sport trim and offered with a choice of two exterior colors, Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 and Ultra White, the new Lexus ES Black Line Special Edition will be available in the 2021 ES 350 model.

All-wheel drive added to the 2021 Lexus ES

For the first time ever, the Lexus ES will be offered with all-wheel drive, which should ensure equally impressive performance no matter what happens outside. The All-wheel drive system favors the front wheels, but if a loss of grip is detected the system can send up to 50% of the available torque to the rear wheels.

Offered in the 2021 Lexus ES 250 AWD, all-wheel drive will be available with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that offers 203 horsepower. In addition to being powerful, the 2021 Lexus ES will also be economical with an average fuel consumption of just 8.4 liters per 100 kilometers.

Built on Lexus’s global K platform, the Lexus ES received sportier styling since its redesign last year. It also offers more technology and more interior space while its personality is decidedly sportier. The only thing that hasn't changed is the comfort and smoothness of the 2021 Lexus ES, which remains one of the most comfortable cars you can buy across all segments.

The 2021 Lexus ES will go on sale this fall.
