Lexus had big news for performance enthusiasts last February with the announcement of the return of a V8-powered version of the IS sedan. A big comeback, yes, because a little over 10 years ago we were treated to the first version of IS F.
This time around, the name is somewhat different as Lexus renames its model using the F Sport Performance designation. What does not change is the performance the top Lexus IS trim will offer.

Engine
The 2022 IS 500 F Sport Performance will be powered by the same engine found in the RC F Coupe - a naturally aspirated 5-liter V8 with 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. These numbers will allow the model to hit the 100 km/h mark in just 4.6 seconds.
An eight-speed automatic transmission will be responsible for the link between the mechanics and the rear wheels.
True performance sedan
The regular version of the Lexus IS has benefited from on-track development to tune handling.
