The stunning new Lexus BEV Sport Concept

Back in December, Toyota and Lexus CEO Akio Toyoda announced a bold new electrification strategy for Toyota and Lexus, and in the process introduced a full lineup of new electric vehicles from Lexus. We saw new electrified sport utility vehicles and a range of performance coupes including the impressive Lexus BEV Sport concept.

Earlier this month, Lexus released a few more images of the BEV Sport concept, showing a stunning performance coupe with aggressive, sharp lines and a spectacular silhouette highlighted by a long hood and a sharp, slopping roofline.

The Lexus BEV Sport Concept reminds us of the LFA, and if it does make it to production it could very well be the next generation of the LFA. It would be 100% electric and the performance would certainly be out of this world. If it does make it to the market, it would certainly be the new Lexus performance flagship, a worthy successor to the LFA.

What was most interesting about the Lexus BEV Sport Concept is that it shows where Lexus is going with its electrification strategy. The model itself is beautiful and will have any enthusiast jumping with anticipation, but the overall picture is even more appealing. By introducing a model like this, Lexus is telling us that performance will play a central role in its electrification strategy, just as much as versatility and luxury.
