Three Impressive New Features on the 2023 Lexus RX

The Lexus RX has been entirely reworked for 2023 and it will arrive later this year with a new design and a number of new features that have never been seen on this model before.

The Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain

The Lexus RX was the first premium SUV to be offered with a hybrid powertrain back in 2005 and now, the new 2023 Lexus RX moves forward with the introduction of the RX’s first plug-in powertrain. This system will give the RX 450h+ a fully electric range that will make for completely emissions-free short trips and improved fuel consumption in every driving circumstance. This model will be the second plug-in hybrid Lexus vehicle after the NX 450h+, which was introduced in 2022. More details about this version will be unveiled in the coming months.

The RX 500h F SPORT Performance

In addition to launching a plug-in hybrid version, the 2023 model year of the Lexus RX will also see the arrival of the first hybrid F SPORT model to have an exclusive powertrain. This version will be equipped with a new hybrid system that combines two electric motors and a turbocharged gasoline engine. This setup will deliver 367 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, which is the highest output ever achieved by an RX model. To control this power, the RX 500h F SPORT Performance will feature 6-piston brake calipers and the DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system.

The Lexus Interface Multimedia System

The 2023 Lexus RX will adopt the new infotainment system that was launched in the 2022 NX. This multimedia system called Lexus Interface features all of the latest technologies such as the digital key that uses the driver’s phone as a key for the vehicle, the hands-free voice commands that are activated by saying “Hey Lexus” and the capability to receive over-the-air updates in order to always remain up to date with the latest software available.
