Three Technologies that Make the 2022 Lexus NX safer

The redesigned 2022 Lexus NX is equipped with a host of safety features that make it one of the best compact SUVs to choose in order to protect yourself and your family.

Standard all-wheel drive

Every 2022 Lexus NX models come with one of three different all-wheel drive systems. The entry level NX 250 uses a Dynamic Torque Control system, which can send its power to the wheels that need it the most in order to provide greater stability in adverse conditions. The NX 350 is equipped with a full-time system that is controlled electronically and the hybrid models, the NX 250h and the NX 450h+ make use of the electric motors sit on their rear axle in order to provide power to the rear wheels even when the gasoline engine is not needed, thus reducing fuel consumption dradtically.

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist

The 2022 Lexus NX is equipped with a lane departure alert system. This technology monitors the road markings ahead of the vehicle in order to make sure it stays in its lane. If the NX starts drifting over the line, an audio-visual alert is emitted and if the driver doesn’t correct the situation, the system takes control of the steering in order to gently guide the vehicle back in the middle of the lane where it should be in order to prevent an accident caused by driver inattention.

Right & Left turn vehicle detection

This technology allows the 2022 Lexus NX to see around corners and detect vehicles that are in its way at intersections where the driver intends to turn. If it determines a collision is likely, the system will warn the driver and it can also apply the brakes on its own. This is particularly useful when making an unprotected left turn at a busy intersection since it can prevent a collision before you even had time to realise the danger that was present.
